Skyline Stage

I always enjoy the performances at Skyline Stage on Navy Pier.  The venue is small, the Acoustics are great, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. It's worth the hell bent 1hr 35min drive from the Fox Valley area during rush hour into the City.

The set list pretty much follows the other reviews with "Part Of The Plan" opening the show, followed by "Heart Hotels", then "Crow". I almost forgot how good a song "Crow" really is and hadn't listened to it for some years. It really brought back some memories for me. Even Dan made a comment to the predominant middle aged audience by saying: "So....you liked the 70's huh?....Good! We'll be there again soon!".

Over all, I thought Dan's performance was very good and he always surrounds himself with some top notch musicians when he isn't playing solo. The extended Jam on "Power Of Gold" really proves how well a lead guitar player he is, and the tribute song to Muddy Waters leaves you with a taste wanting more. I thought his vocals were a little rough on a couple of songs as opposed to his performance I saw last year at the Coronado Theater in Rockford where he was definitely on it through out the entire show. I would have liked to have heard more from the new CD since this latest release seems to be dedicated mostly to his loyal fans that have continued supporting him long after his music diminished from main stream radio.

I think the man still has a lot of talent left in him. As long as he continues to Record and Tour, I will continue to buy his Recordings and be entertained at his shows.
