I couldn't believe we were finally there !

The evening started off with Debra Knox, a
local singer from Pleasanton California. She
had a delightful upbeat & quirky personality
and really captured us all with her strong vocals
and terrific acoustic playing. Though I had never
encountered her before, I found her performance
delightful and well as funny. She had a couple of
comical tunes !

Then....it was on babeeee, Dan the Man came
on! He wore his traditional concert gab of nice
silk shirt with jeans and a suit coat topped off
with his fisherman sandals. He looked terrific.
He seemed to have gained a couple of pounds
since last year and they suited him well.

He seemed a little distracted at first but, he
quickly got into a festive mood after a bit,
thanks to a very enthusiastic crowd. They
cheered his every move and he seemed very
appreciative.

The set remained the same as from the Seattle
venue with the exception of the new song.
I was bummed about missing that one but,
perhaps we'll hear it at a later date. He made
a couple of interesting personal revelations.
He had traveled to Paris last month and also
got engaged to his sweetie ! He also told a
couple of interesting tales of his time spent
on a commune in a apple farm in Mendocino
County. Seems Dan has had quite an interesting
life ! I thought it was interesting that he said he
enjoyed life in the commune and felt that there
were something good to be said about that way
of life.

His songs were played with master precision
as always. I still marvel at the way he can strum
the strings on his guitar with such a soulful way.
Truly, he is a man who loves his craft, and his
dedication to it has you spellbound with his
performance.

Though he didn't play anything new, I found
myself being lost watching him change a chord
or a vocal note on a song and give it a whole
different feeling and meaning. His performance
was simply wonderful and even though I've
heard every song a million times...he changed
them all and gave them new depth. I enjoyed
every minute of the concert and only wished
there were more ! The concert let out at about
11:40pm or so, but it seemed to fly by !

Without Him, I am nothing but with Him I can
do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
