Meadowbrook
June 15, 2002

My wife and I have been to about 8 of Dan's concerts over the last 20 years at various locations in Michigan, and once again attended his concert at
Meadowbrook in the northern Detroit suburbs on June 15, 2002. I won't bore you with the playlist, because it was basically the same as everyone else
has listed, with a couple of small changes......he didn't play "Forefathers", which greatly disappointed me. But instead he threw a couple
others in, so it all worked out. Although in my heart I am a solo acoustic nut, we thought the 2002 version with the three parts, 1) acoustic with
band, 2) acoustic solo, and 3)electric band, was perhaps the best concert yet. The variation he covered with and without the band made it great!
Even though he can't quite hit some of the notes he did in his early years, he still sounds outstanding for a middle aged guy (can't believe I'm calling
him that.....I'm only a few years shy of him myself.....where do the years go?). And he seemed to be in rare form with the audience. Very warm and
charming on a night filled with thunderstorms. I heard a rumor at the concert that Dan is doing a second tour this summer solo acoustic. Anyone
got any info on that? Anyway, once again Dan did a great job. Just when I start debating whether we need to see him again after so many times, I go to
the concert and am grateful that I did. Bravo!
