Mechanic Theatre - Baltimore, MA
I was at the Baltimore show. He had a local girl singer come out first
who's name I forget. Her voice was nice but her songs were all depressing!
Dan looked good and joked about the Mechanic Theatre - that you could catch a
show and get your brakes done too! lol. He opened with Nexus that sounded too
fast to me.
He wasn't really chatty with us though like other people have made it sound
like he was at other shows. He seemed to be more like it was getting the job
done. He had lots of trouble with his guitars after the tech gave them to him
he had to retune alot. He motioned to them over at the side quite a few times
and once left the piano after a song to have words with them. He then said in
an Irish accent it was just technical stuff to make sure it all sounded right
for us. But I think he was irritated.
He did the same songs but no "Longer" or "LBT". He didn't
tell the audience that Buckaroo was his cat. He sounded good and looked good
and played good but I just didn't get the feeling he wanted to be there. Just
one encore, "Old Lang Syne". The lights went up pretty fast after
that.
I am tired of "Run For The Roses." and most of the other same old
stuff. It would be so nice to hear some of his other songs.
The people around us were rude and yelling. One woman kept using a flash even
though she had a long lens on her camera. Another woman kept calling someone
on her cell phone and letting them hear songs. Another woman kept waving an
album cover in the air.
He ended with Part of the Plan and his guitar playing was really beautiful.
But I think he wanted to get out of there. I don't think he played
"longer than" ninety minutes.
I also think he didn't look skinny at all. And not a gray hair to be seen!
