Morning Sky

This song is on Dan Fogelberg's album "Souvenirs" released in 1974-I have this CD
On July 2,2002 I saw Dan Fogelberg and his band perform this song in concert at the Grove Venue in Anaheim, California
After the show I went backstage and talked with his bandmate Robert McEntee
I have shared here before that I drew 2 pictures of Dan Fogelberg-Both of those drawings were given to Dan that night in Anaheim, California
Dan also signed his Home Free/Souvenirs songbook that I had for me that night in Anaheim, California
Jean Fogelberg was there too-I saw her while I was talking to Robert McEntee
I will share in a post below this one, pics of Dan and the band on stage that my former girlfriend Sandi took that night in Anaheim, California
Joe Walsh produced the album and played on ten of the eleven tracks
Reviewing retrospectively for AllMusic, critic Stephen J. Matteo wrote of the album "Dan Fogelberg expanded slightly on his sparse, countrified folk sound, adding a distinctively more pop feel, thanks to help from producer Joe Walsh."

The picture I use for this song is of a sunrise in the Superstition Mountains 30 miles east of where I live in Mesa, Arizona

You and I were lovers all along
We had a good thing going strong and never doubted
Lately I feel changes coming on I know that I will soon be gone
And you don't even want to talk about it
Ooh, and it makes me stop and wonder why
People give their hearts and turn around and say goodbye
If there's something on your mind you better say it while there's time
'Cause I'm leaving when I see that morning sky
Ooh, how did we ever come to this
There's nothing for me in your kisses anymore
Late nights in the kitchen I'm pretending I still care
But we both know there's nothing there
And you just keep on staring at the door
Ooh, and it makes me stop and wonder why
People give their hearts and turn around and say goodbye
If there's something on your mind you better say it while there's time
'Cause I'm leaving when I see that morning sky
Ooh, and it makes me stop and wonder why
People give their hearts and turn around and say goodbye
If there's something on your mind you better say it while there's time
'Cause I'm leaving when I see that morning sky
You and I were lovers all along
We had a good thing going strong and never doubted
Lately I feel changes coming on I know that I will soon be gone
And you don't even want to talk about it
Ooh, and it makes me stop and wonder why
People give their hearts and turn around and say goodbye
If there's something on your mind you better say it while there's time
'Cause I'm leaving when I see that morning sky
See that morning sky
