The Musician's Page

From the garages and basements in Peoria to the coffeehouses and frat bars in Champaign to the largest venues in the country, many musicians have shared the stage with Dan Fogelberg.  Though some are reportedly still in jail, some continue to play professionally.  Some have moved on to other careers, and some retired on their earnings.

They are the unsung heroes of the music business.  Their names are never in lights although some do earn their share of recognition.  Whatever their situation, they have been a major part of our listening enjoyment for many years, the backbone of our music.

The players of our generation were dedicated to the music.  Many could have made more money in other careers, but their love of playing music kept them in the business.  For years, they packed up and moved from place to place, from venue to venue, to entertain us with their talent.  But things have changed in the music business today.  The emphasis is no longer on pure musical talent, but on commercialism.

This page is dedicated to the “real” musicians, the true talents, those who actually tune their own instruments.  We invite all musicians, past and present, who have joined with Dan in making the music we love, to contribute to this page.  You may contribute anonymously or you can give us names, email addresses, and web site links.  We want to know your history with Dan, a short history of your career, and your present projects.  Editorial comment about the status of the music industry today and the outlook for the future of music will also be welcomed.  We want to hear from you!
