She Wore Black

That night she came to me she wore the deepest black
The silk caressed the curves of her satin skin
I wanted to take her but it was not to be
I didn't know how and I didn't know where to begin

She wore black in the memory of her lover
She wore black so it was not to be
She wore black and she vanished in the darkness
And became one with the night, and the silence of the sea

She will come to visit, but only in my dreams
She never comes around in the light of day
She dances in the moonbeams of misty mountain streams
Then disappears behind the milky way

I wanted to love her, but it would not be so
Her heart was for another who had gone
I'll always remember her cloaked in silky black
And forever know the sadness of her song

She wore black in the memory of her lover
She wore black so it was not to be
She wore black and she vanished in the darkness
And became one with the night, and the silence of the sea

That night she came to me she wore the deepest black
The silk caressed the curves of her satin skin
I would have loved to love her, but it was not to be
I pray she knows the love I hold within
I'll always hold the deepest love within

She wore black in the memory of her lover
She wore black so it was not to be
She wore black and she vanished in the darkness
And became one with the night, and the silence of the sea
Of the sea
Of the sea
