To The Morning
I have this Dan Fogelberg "Home Free" CD Watching the sun, watching it come And it's going to be a day Waiting for mail, maybe a tale And it's going to be a day And maybe there are seasons The sounds of the day That it's going to be a day And maybe there are seasons ~~~ Dan Fogelberg ~~~
The story behind this song was that Dan Fogelberg was 18 years old sitting at his mother's (Margaret) piano
in the house he lived in with his father (Lawrence) and 2 older brothers (Marc and Peter) in Peoria, Illinois when he wrote this song.
In July 2000 I watched and heard Dan Fogelberg perform this song in concert at Humphrey's by the Bay in San Diego, California
Watching it come up over the rooftops
Cloudy and warm, maybe a storm
You can never quite tell from the morning
There is really no way to say no to the morning
Yes it's going to be a day
There is really nothing left to say but come on morning
From an old friend or even a lover
Sometimes there's none
But we have fun thinking of all who might have written
There is really no way to say no to the morning
Yes it's going to be a day
There is really nothing left to say but come on morning
And maybe they change
And maybe to love is not so strange
Now they hurry away
Now they are gone until tomorrow
When day will break and you will wake
And you will rake your hands across your eyes and realize
There is really no way to say no to the morning
Yes it's going to be a day
There is really nothing left to say but come on morning
And maybe they change
And maybe to love is not so strange
