Waltzing With You

Raindrops on the windows and dewdrops on the lawn
Cloud pillows dancing on the mountaintops at dawn
Cottonwoods and dogwoods by a gentle meadow stream
And waltzing with you, my favorite things

I once thought I needed the bright city lights
Running loose like a maverick night after night
But gazing at you and your bright baby blues
And waltzing on the back porch is the life that I choose

Lightning bolts brightening up the desert sky at night
A foal and her momma in Kentucky is a sight
Mountainscapes and seascapes and Autumn colored leaves
And waltzing with you, my favorite things

I once thought I needed the bright city lights
Fast cars and women, make a stand for a night
Now I like walking, holding hands with you
And waltzing on the back porch is the life that I choose

Strumming my six-string and full moonlit nights
The sunrise and sunsets, an eagle in flight
Red velvet roses, doves on the wing
And waltzing with you, my favorite things

I once thought I needed the bright city lights
Beer brawls and cat calls, I was a sight
Now it's rainy days and snuggling with you
And waltzing on the back porch is the life that I choose

I now know the bright city lights can burn out
And leave a man lonely and lost, there's no doubt
Now I've got you, I'll sing no more blues
It's waltzing on the back porch, the life that I choose
It's waltzing on the back porch, the life that I choose
